Although Calella de Mar underwent a spectacular transformation in the 1960s, it still preserves its historic center. Even the Can Salvador de la Plaça estate , now home to the municipal library, still bears witness to the importance of agriculture in the local economy for centuries.

Here you can see minerals, fossils, archaeological equipment s, tiles, popular ceramics, textile machinery, fabrics, tools of traditional trades, documents, dresses, embroidery... There is also an art gallery, an old pharmacy from the early twentieth century and a reproduction of an old kitchen.
