About the Trip to the Cíes Islands

What Do You Need to Know?

When you make your booking, we’ll send you a form where you’ll need to provide the personal information for all travellers and your preferred departure times for the boat holidays. We’ll use this information to arrange both the ferry tickets and the authorization from the Xunta de Galicia, which is a mandatory requirement for travelling to the islands. We’ll email you all the necessary documentation 48 hours before your holiday begins.

About the Trip to the Cíes Islands

• The holiday to the Cíes Islands is by boat from the port of Vigo. The round holiday takes place on the same day.
• Transportation to the port of Vigo is not included in the deal, so you’ll need to make your own way there. We’ll provide the exact address of the ferry company in the documentation.
• Please note that during peak travel periods, there may not be any available spots to visit the Cíes Islands on the days of your holiday. Don’t worry! In that case, we’ll offer you the chance to visit the Ons Islands instead. They’re also considered a nature reserve and are very close to the Cíes!

Pets

• The Cíes Islands are a Natural Park and, as such, are protected; therefore, no animal or plant species may be introduced. It’s important to note that your pet cannot accompany you during your visit.

The Islas Cíes are a breathtaking archipelago located off the coast of Galicia in the province of Pontevedra. Forming part of the Atlantic Islands of Galicia National Park, the Cíes Islands are renowned for their pristine natural beauty, crystal-clear waters and some of the most stunning beaches in Europe.

• Playa de Rodas: Often ranked among the world’s best beaches, this white-sand paradise connects two of the islands and is surrounded by turquoise waters and pine-covered dunes.
• Monte Faro Viewpoint: This scenic hike leads to the highest point of the islands and offers panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and the surrounding cliffs.
• Faro da Porta and Faro do Peito: Two iconic lighthouses that can be reached on foot — ideal for sunrise or sunset walks.
• The Interpretation Centre of the National Park: Learn about the local marine ecosystems, flora and birdlife before exploring the trails.
• Birdwatching: The Cíes Islands are home to one of Europe’s largest colonies of yellow-legged gulls, as well as cormorants and shearwaters.

• Easy hiking trails: There are well-marked routes of varying difficulty, many of which are suitable for children, such as the path to the Faro da Porta.
• Beach Time in Calm Waters: Rodas and Nosa Señora have gentle waves, making them ideal for families with children.
• Picnic Areas: Shaded picnic areas with tables near the main pier are perfect for a relaxed family lunch.
• Camping under the stars: The eco-friendly campsite is the only place to stay overnight (reservation required) and offers a unique family experience.
• Boat ride to the islands: Taking the ferry from Vigo, Cangas or Baiona is part of the adventure and is often a particular highlight for children.
