Why this destination is a must-visit
Cala Bona: where Mallorca still whispers fishermen’s tales
Never been? Forget the crowds. Cala Bona is where the Mediterranean slows down, days are measured in seaside strolls, and Mallorca shows its most genuine side.
An old fishing port that has managed to preserve its soul: wooden boats, the legendary llaüts, an endless promenade and that village feel where everyone says hello. Here is what awaits you:
-
The secret of its coves: no endless beach here. Cala Bona is made up of small bays protected by breakwaters. The best part? The rocks keep the water so calm it looks like glass, perfect if you dislike waves or fancy floating for hours.
-
The golden pine mile: walk north and you reach Costa de los Pinos, where trees meet the sea and villas hide among the greenery. An exclusive hideaway for familiar faces seeking discretion.
-
The Greenway: just behind the village, this route follows the old railway line through untouched nature, almond trees and carobs. Rural Mallorca, just five minutes from the coast.
-
The island’s first sunrise: on the eastern coast, Cala Bona sees the sun rise earlier than almost anywhere in Mallorca. Watching it from the harbour, with masts clinking in the background, is pure holiday magic.
-
Gastronomy with a local name: try the local lobster or fresh rock fish on the harbour terraces. Here, the journey from boat to plate is beautifully short.
In short, Cala Bona is for travellers seeking authenticity, calm and that unforgettable Balearic blue.
