Ferry

Ferry departures, schedules and meal plans

  • This holiday has departures from Barcelona.
  • During the booking process, you will be able to check the approximate ferry schedules.
  • Together with your travel documents, which you will receive by email, we will send you all the details regarding the departure and arrival ports.
  • For both the outbound and return journeys, we recommend arriving at the port at least 2 hours before departure.
    • Important: ferry schedules may occasionally change. This is not common, but if it happens, we will inform you as soon as we receive confirmation.
  • Please note that the ferry crossing always takes place overnight, so you will arrive on the island the following morning.
  • Hotel check-in will be available from midday onwards. Until then, you will not have access to your room or rest areas, so we recommend planning your arrival in advance.

Information about the ferry company

  • The ferry crossing is usually operated by Trasmed.
  • However, for operational reasons, the route may also be operated by GNV, another company covering the same route.
  • The final ferry operator will be confirmed directly at the port on the day of departure.
  • This will not affect your booking or the services included. The ferry company may simply assign the vessel according to operational needs.

How does the board basis work?

If you book a meal plan, it will always begin at the accommodation. Please note that meals are not included on the ferry.

  • If your booking includes 4 people or fewer, you’ll share a single cabin. * If you’d like to have two cabins, you can contact us here and we’ll check for availability.
  • If there are more than 4 people in your group, multiple cabins will be assigned based on the maximum capacity.

Cala en Blanes: What the Guidebooks Don’t Tell You (and You’ll Love to Discover)

Cala en Blanes is much more than just a beach. Here are five insider tips to experience it like a local:

  • The "Insider" of the Caribbean: It’s not your typical Menorcan landscape. While other coves are surrounded by pine trees, Cala en Blanes stands out with its lush palm grove right on the sand. A touch of tropical magic in the heart of the Mediterranean, perfect for a natural siesta in the shade.

  • The Secret Refuge from the Tramontana: When the famous north wind sweeps across the island, other beaches get rough, but Cala en Blanes remains as calm as a swimming pool. Its narrow, elongated shape acts as a natural shield, making it the perfect "plan B" for a peaceful sea on windy days.

  • A Natural "Bridge" to the Sunset: Just steps away from the sand is the Pont d'en Gil, a large natural rock arch over the sea. While tourists admire it from afar, the real secret is to hike up there at sunset and watch the sun set perfectly through the arch.

  • Prehistoric Neighbors: Right next to the beach lies the Necropolis of Cala en Blanes. These caves were hand-dug into the rock by the island's first settlers thousands of years ago. You can go from lounging in the sun to stepping back into the mysterious Bronze Age of Menorca in minutes.

  • The "Secret" Connection Through the Rocks: Instead of staying put on the sand, follow the coastal path leading to Cala en Brut. No sand here, but natural platforms carved into the rock. It’s the locals’ favorite spot for cliff diving into some of the clearest, most turquoise water on the island.

Menorca: your perfect island escape of calm, nature and charm

Menorca is one of the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean Sea, located to the north-east of Mallorca. Declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, the island is famous for its crystal clear waters, hidden coves, whitewashed villages and relaxed atmosphere. Less developed than its sister islands, Menorca is ideal for families, nature lovers and travellers seeking peace and authenticity.

Make sure you visit:

  • Ciutadella de Menorca: The former capital of the island, with narrow streets, Gothic churches and a lovely harbour, perfect for evening strolls.
  • Mahon (Maó): The current capital, known for its natural harbour (one of the largest in the world), Georgian buildings and local markets.
  • Naveta des Tudons: A well-preserved prehistoric burial site dating back over 3,000 years.
  • Monte Toro: The highest point on the island, with panoramic views and a peaceful sanctuary at the top.
  • Fort Marlborough: An 18th century fort built by the British into the cliffs near the port of Mahón.

Beaches we think you'll like:

  • Cala en Porter: Sheltered cove with calm waters and easy access, excellent for young children.
  • Cala Macarella & Cala Macarelleta: Two of Menorca's most iconic beaches, with turquoise waters, fine white sand and dramatic cliffs.
  • Cala Mitjana: Surrounded by pine forests, this beach is perfect for a relaxing day in a natural setting.
  • Cala Galdana: A family-friendly beach with shallow waters and nearby restaurants and facilities.
  • Son Bou beach: The longest beach on the island, ideal for sunbathing, water sports and long walks along the shore.
  • Cala Pregonda: A stunning beach with red-golden sand and crystal-clear waters, ideal for snorkelling.

Make sure you try these local delicacies:

  • Caldereta de langosta: Lobster stew, particularly famous in the town of Fornells.
  • Queso de Mahón: A cheese with a Denomination of Origin, ranging from soft to mature, often served with olive oil and paprika.
  • Oliaigua: A traditional vegetable soup, originally eaten by peasants and often served cold.
  • Gin Xoriguer: Menorca's signature gin, best enjoyed with lemon soda in the popular "pomada" drink.

Make the most of your visit and go to ...

  • Fornells: A charming fishing village famous for its lobster stew and sea excursions.
  • Binibeca Vell: A picturesque village of white houses and narrow streets, ideal for photography and seafood lunches.
  • Cova d'en Xoroi: A natural cave bar built into a cliff with stunning sunset views over the sea.
  • Es Grau and S'Albufera des Grau Natural Park: An area of protected wetlands perfect for birdwatching, kayaking and easy walks.
  • Alaior: A quiet inland town known for its cheese production and craft markets.

5.5 Heller Travelled with couple September 2026

8 Marí Travelled with family August 2026 The apartments were well equipped with a fridge, kitchen, microwave, coffee maker and utensils, and all of them have a terrace with a clothesline as well as a table and chairs.
They should change the towels every day, not every three days, and make the beds and do a bit of cleaning each day. But they only come once during the whole week to change the sheets, and that’s the only day they make the beds. They don’t clean anything.

8.7 Nolwenn August 2026 The staff was very friendly and extremely responsive! We were missing a few items in the apartment, but just 30 minutes after we reported it, we received everything we needed. The apartment was quite spacious and the terrace was a good size; the bedding and pillows were very comfortable. No neighbors directly across the way, and the complex was fairly quiet.

There were four of us and we only had bedding for two; the kitchen was quite greasy, there was missing cookware, and the balcony was always wet from the air-conditioning condensate which fell straight onto the floor or onto the air-conditioning unit. The place needs a major maintenance overhaul.

7.7 Angel Travelled with couple May 2026 It highlighted its beaches and recommends bringing about 50% of your own food and drinks. On virgin beaches there may be a beach bar, but it is expensive; in some places there is someone who can sell you some fruit and drinks. You can take the bus to many beaches and coves, for about £10 per person (from Ciutadella and/or Mahón, which is very pretty). Visit fishing villages such as Fornells, Binibeca… (worth it). If you need to refuel, fill the tank at the stations closest to the airport, as they are usually cheaper (up to 20 cents cheaper).
Yes, leave in the apartment a few things for your arrival on the first day, such as a little oil, salt, vinegar, coffee, because they don’t allow you to bring these on the plane; until you can settle in and see what services you have nearby… in Menorca there is usually everything, but hire a car.
