Cala Millor: kilometres of white sand and turquoise waters

Its biggest attraction is one of the island’s most spectacular urban beaches, combined with a peaceful European atmosphere and a fantastic leisure scene.

What you can’t miss:

  • A beach straight out of a Caribbean postcard: almost two kilometres of fine white sand and crystal clear waters so transparent they look like a swimming pool. The sea remains shallow for quite a distance, making it ideal for children and perfect for relaxing swims.
  • The seafront promenade: kilometres of flat walkway lined with palm trees. Perfect for cycling, jogging or enjoying a sunset stroll with the sea breeze and lively terraces all around.
  • The natural area of Punta de n’Amer: at the end of the beach you’ll find this protected and untouched peninsula. A beautiful landscape of dunes and pine forests, ideal for a peaceful walk. In the centre stands Es Castillet, a 17th century defence tower with a charming bar where you can enjoy a drink overlooking the sea.
  • Great food without surprises: behind the beachfront, lively pedestrian streets are filled with places to eat. Avoid tourist traps with photo menus and head to local taverns or nearby villages such as Son Servera to try authentic frito mallorquín or a delicious ensaimada at reasonable prices.

Our recommendation: If you fancy exploring beyond the beach, the spectacular Caves of Drach in Porto Cristo are just 15 minutes away by car or bus. A perfect excursion to swap the sunshine for an underground world of lakes, lights and classical music.

Mallorca: sun, sea and unforgettable moments

Mallorca is one of the Mediterranean’s most beloved islands, combining turquoise coves, golden-sand beaches, scenic mountain landscapes, charming stone villages, and a vibrant cultural scene. Ideal for families and couples alike, the island invites you to slow down, explore, and enjoy every moment under the sun.

Make sure you visit:

  • Palma de Mallorca’s Old Town: A captivating mix of Gothic architecture, narrow lanes, elegant courtyards, and lively cafés perfect for an afternoon stroll.
  • La Seu Cathedral: The island’s most iconic monument, rising dramatically by the sea with stunning interiors and views.
  • Serra de Tramuntana: A UNESCO-listed mountain range offering breathtaking panoramas, charming viewpoints, and picturesque villages.
  • Valldemossa & Deià: Two of the most beautiful inland villages, known for their stone houses, artistic heritage, and peaceful Mediterranean atmosphere.
  • Cap de Formentor: A dramatic headland with unforgettable viewpoints overlooking cliffs, forests, and the sea.

Beaches we think you’ll like:

  • Cala Mondragó: A protected natural bay with shallow turquoise water, perfect for families.
  • Es Trenc: Often compared to Caribbean beaches thanks to its white sand and calm, clear sea.
  • Cala Llombards: A small cove surrounded by rocky cliffs and perfect for snorkeling.
  • Playa de Muro: A long sandy beach with gentle waves, ideal for children and long seaside walks.
  • Cala Agulla: A scenic beach framed by pine forests and natural dunes.

Family-friendly activities:

  • Palma Aquarium: A highlight for children, with huge tanks, interactive zones, and Mediterranean species.
  • Vintage train to Sóller: A charming wooden train crossing valleys and citrus groves, ideal for a relaxing family excursion.
  • Boat trip along the coast: Great for spotting hidden coves and enjoying the island from the water.
  • Cuevas del Drach: Fascinating underground caves with a large subterranean lake.
  • Easy hikes in the Tramuntana: Well-signposted routes suitable for beginners and families.

Make sure you try these local delicacies:

  • Ensaimada: Mallorca’s iconic sweet pastry, perfect for breakfast or a mid-afternoon treat.
  • Sobrassada: A soft, slightly spicy cured sausage traditionally spread on bread.
  • Tumbet: A local vegetable dish similar to ratatouille, full of Mediterranean flavours.
  • Arroz brut: A comforting, spiced rice dish prepared with meat and vegetables.
  • Fresh seafood: Especially local fish like “raor” or grilled sardines.

Make the most of your visit and go to ...

  • Sóller & Port de Sóller: A perfect day trip combining mountain scenery, orange groves, and a beautiful seaside promenade.
  • Alcúdia Old Town: A charming medieval walled town with cobbled streets, traditional markets, and Roman ruins nearby.
  • Cabrera National Park: Take a boat tour to this protected archipelago with untouched landscapes and crystal-clear waters.
  • Pollensa: Ideal for culture lovers, with its historic square, art galleries, and the iconic 365 Calvari Steps.
  • Port d’Andratx: A scenic harbour town perfect for a relaxing walk and waterfront dining.

6.9 Jose Duarte Travelled with family July 2026
The location is good, in front of the beach and from bars and stores. The hotel was clean
The restaurant: quantity and variety are not expected for a 4*, not even for a 2*!
Very good
9.1 Maria Jose Travelled with couple August 2026 The hotel's location is magnificent, full of shops, restaurants and ice-cream parlours without causing any disturbance to your rest. On the beachfront, with two **pools** to enjoy, well-equipped with sunbeds and relaxation areas. The food is spectacular, among the best we have tried — not overly varied, but perfectly adequate.
I consider the room-cleaning hours, from 12:30 to 14:30, a bit late if you bear in mind that lunchtime encourages people to rest at that time. Dinner times should also be adapted for Spanish tourists; finishing dinner at 21:30 is a little early and the schedule is aimed mainly at foreign visitors.

4.1 Francisco Travelled with family August 2026 The hotel's location
La situación del hotel
Restaurant with very scarce food, limited variety and very average quality. In the aparthotel the bathroom had little water and showering was a real ordeal.

8 Cristina Travelled with couple August 2026 The hotel isn’t bad; the room floors could do with some renovation, the food was quite good, the location excellent right on the beachfront, the staff were good, the room was very nice and the beds very comfortable.
the air conditioning — the air was very weak throughout the hotel; with the heat in mid‑August it was hard to bear. They need to invest in the air conditioning. Also, they charge for lockers to store backpacks or suitcases, when there should be somewhere to keep luggage free of charge. It's a bit of an abuse, to be honest — they still need to improve many things. I would return if they fixed the air conditioning.

6.3 La viajera Travelled with couple August 2026 The staff were very good and pleasant, attentive to details. Good location. The food was fine — they cook meat and fish to order — but otherwise very repetitive.
The air conditioning was awful; you can't even sleep because of the heat. It only works in the reception and in the small snack room — everywhere else it's impossible. I didn't enjoy the stay because of the heat. We had to put the mattress from one bed on the floor under the vents to feel any coolness; it was stifling. I don't understand why they haven't fixed it. Not being able to eat inside was truly a shame.

Pleasant
3 Catherine Travelled with family August 2026 Where to start? This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The only redeeming feature is that it’s opposite the beach.
Rooms On arrival at the hotel, on the first day we were given a room for which we had paid an extra surcharge to have sea views. However, when we got there the air conditioning didn’t cool at all. It was unbearably hot and there was no air circulation. The bathtub had a cheap white plastic curtain rail that kept falling down and, to make matters worse, the drain flooded. We asked for the problem to be fixed and requested a room change. The first alternative they offered was a room in another building, but that would have meant losing the sea view we had specifically paid extra for. Finally they told us they had no rooms available until the next day. During that first night they gave us a fan that was full of dust and barely produced any airflow, so we had to sleep in those conditions. The next day they gave us the room next door. However, the air conditioning still didn’t work properly. In the end we gave up pursuing the complaint because we did not want to carry on arguing. Buscundeal To start with, we consider that Buscundeal, the platform through which we booked the holiday, handles these sorts of packages very poorly. The holiday included the ferry and, arriving at the hotel at 7 in the morning, you are not allowed to access your room until 2 pm. This means you have to spend almost the whole day in the lobby with your luggage, waiting to be given access to the room. Reception staff The reception staff treated us in a way we found very inappropriate. They were quite rude, very abrupt, and throughout they spoke to us as if we were responsible for the hotel’s problems. Facilities and pools The facilities were horribly dirty. The pools had mould, there was sand everywhere and the cleaning left a lot to be desired. The overall impression was a lack of hygiene and maintenance. Towels One of our towels was stolen and the hotel took absolutely no responsibility. To use the towels you had to leave a deposit of €20, that is €10 per towel. As everyone left towels outside, we did the same. One day I left one of the towels outside my room, on a sunbed directly opposite our room, and went for a nap. When I woke up, only one of the two towels remained. The towel had gone and, of course, the hotel offered no solution and did not accept responsibility for what had happened. They simply charged us the €10 fee. All-Inclusive and drinks The all‑inclusive package included drinks of quite poor quality, but the main problem was something else: if you didn’t have a euro in cash, you couldn’t enjoy the all‑inclusive anywhere in the hotel. To get a drink you had to leave a one-euro deposit for the plastic cup. If you didn’t have that euro in cash, you couldn’t even have a Coca‑Cola. For example, if you were in your room and decided to go down directly to the pool without clothes with pockets, phone, wallet or anything, you couldn’t have a Coca‑Cola because you needed to carry a euro in cash to leave as a deposit for the cup. And the most absurd thing is that this deposit couldn’t be paid by card either. You had to have one euro in cash to be able to enjoy a drink included in the all‑inclusive package. Food The only noteworthy and genuinely positive aspect of the hotel was the food. On entering the restaurant, located on the lower ground floor, there was a horrible smell of damp and mould, which was quite unpleasant. However, putting that aside, the food was very good. It was limited in quantity, but of good quality, cooked on site and with a homely flavour. The variety was acceptable and, amid everything negative about our experience, the food was undoubtedly the only thing we can mention positively about the hotel.

8.9 Noemi Travelled with family August 2026 Excellent location; if you didn’t feel like driving you had restaurants, laundry services and shops on site. Friendliness and attentiveness from most of the staff. They honoured our request to give us rooms on the highest floor of the building and next to each other, as we were travelling with our 13- and 16-year-old children. The chambermaid was very pleasant.
The food wasn’t bad but it was very repetitive. I would have liked more variety and themed nights. The schedules are geared towards foreign tourists. Few daytime activities at the hotel and no evening entertainment. I would have liked the fridge to have a freezer compartment and a drying rack on the terrace.

6.4 Eva Travelled with couple August 2026 The hotel's location was unbeatable, the staff wonderful (thankfully), and the food pretty good — we were on an all‑inclusive package and had no complaints.
I am 54 and have never slept so badly in my life; the mattresses weren’t just bad, they were terrible. I arrived with my back aching. The room — and especially the bathroom — was ridiculously small. The view is lovely, but you can’t sleep on the terrace. The hotel is quite old. It might have deserved four stars 25 years ago, but now two would be plenty. I must also mention the constant smell of sewer, particularly in the dining room. One final important note: if you travel by ferry, be careful when choosing people — I think it was my mistake for booking without a seat without realising; check carefully when you make the booking.
Tengo 54 años y en mi vida he dormido tan mal, colchones malos no...

7.4 Montse Travelled with family August 2026 The hotel is on the beachfront, but only 9 of the rooms have sea views. The room was old and the bathroom had a bathtub, not very accessible, but it was clean. Dinner and breakfast were adequate, and the room cleaning was good.
No car park facilities are available; the room faced the wall of the neighbouring building. Air conditioning was completely absent. It is advertised as a 4-star hotel, but it really deserves 3 stars at best. The pools are small, chlorinated puddles and the hotel has no evening entertainment, while the daytime activities are terrible — they just put out a speaker with a pen drive of music. Honestly, I was very disappointed; I expected much more from a 4-star hotel.

Very good
8.9 Maria Dolores Travelled with couple August 2026 There are many good things, such as the location, cleanliness, friendly staff and the peacefulness despite being in a very touristy area. The beaches and coves are beautiful. And our terrace was very large and had sun loungers.
The food could be improved — not in quality but in the way the dishes are prepared. The food is good but often either too dry, under‑seasoned or overcooked. This is an important area to address.

The room I was given had a bathroom that smelled bad and the odour was awful.

Very good
2.3 Belen Travelled with couple July 2026 The only good thing about this place is the location, one of the best in Mallorca. Apart from that the hotel is dreadful, the food is awful and worst of all the air conditioning has been switched off throughout the hotel — with the heatwave and the humidity it’s horrible to be stuck in there.
They need to improve the food and the atmosphere inside the hotel, which is horrible.

Disappointing
5.9 Eugenia Travelled with family July 2026 The location was good — close to many things, with a beach right in front, which was great!
Rooms without air conditioning despite having informed them on the first day. Their only solution was to offer to move us the next day, and we refused. We had said so on the first day and we were travelling with a baby, so it wasn’t feasible to move everything for a single night. Poor handling of that issue. I have never been so hot on holiday in a hotel.
