Ibiza beyond the nightlife: your Mediterranean escape

Ibiza is far more than its world-famous nightlife. This Balearic Island blends quiet Mediterranean villages, crystal-clear coves, pine-covered hills and a UNESCO-listed old town that invites you to slow down and explore. Families, couples and travellers seeking a balance of nature, culture and coastal beauty will find an island full of surprises beyond the party scene.

Make sure you visit:

  • Dalt Vila (Ibiza Town’s Old Quarter): A UNESCO World Heritage Site with cobblestone alleys, centuries-old walls and viewpoints overlooking the harbour.
  • Es Vedrà Viewpoint: One of the island’s most iconic sights, offering dramatic sunsets over the mysterious rocky islet rising from the sea.
  • Santa Eulària des Riu: A charming coastal town known for its peaceful promenade, historic church and relaxed Mediterranean vibe.
  • San Antonio Bay: Famous for its sunsets, vibrant atmosphere and coastal walks that suit both couples and families.

Beaches we think you’ll like:

  • Cala Comte: Crystal-clear waters and golden sand with stunning sunset views.
  • Cala Bassa: A shallow, turquoise bay ideal for children and swimmers of all levels.
  • Cala d’Hort: A peaceful beach framed by pine trees and views toward Es Vedrà.
  • Cala Llonga: A wide, sandy beach with calm waters, perfect for a full family day in the sun.

Family-friendly activities:

  • Boat trip along the coast: Safe, scenic routes that reveal hidden coves and calm swimming spots.
  • Visit to the Can Marçà Caves: An easy, guided walk through illuminated tunnels with views over the bay of Port de Sant Miquel.
  • Hiking in Ses Salines Natural Park: Flat trails, bird-watching and peaceful landscapes ideal for relaxed family walks.
  • Markets like Las Dalias: Craft stalls, colourful textiles and a lively atmosphere that’s fun for all ages.

Make sure you try these local delicacies:

  • Bullit de peix: A flavourful fish stew served with saffron-rice, a classic island dish.
  • Sofrit pagès: A hearty combination of meat, vegetables and spices with deep Balearic roots.
  • Flaó: Ibiza’s traditional mint-infused cheesecake.
  • Hierbas ibicencas: A local herbal liqueur, perfect for tasting after a meal.

Make the most of your visit and go to ...

  • Formentera: Just a short ferry ride away, this neighbouring island offers Caribbean-like beaches, white sands and calm waters—ideal for a full-day escape.
  • Ses Salines Natural Park: Explore salt flats, wildlife and long beaches perfect for walking or swimming.
  • Cala Benirràs: A scenic bay known for its relaxed Sunday drumming gatherings and picturesque sunsets.
  • Sant Josep: A charming inland village with traditional houses, relaxed cafés and easy access to some of the west coast’s best beaches.

9.7 David Travelled with couple August 2025 Quite large rooms with a built-in kitchen. The hotel food is very good, with options even for vegetarians. Being for adults only, it is very peaceful.
Habitaciones bastante grandes con cocina incorporada. La comida del hotel muy buena, incluso con opciones para vegetarianos. Al ser solo de adultos hay mucha tranquilidad.
What we liked the least are the stairs you have to climb to get to the room.
Lo que menos nos gusto son las escaleras que tienes que subir hasta la habitación.

9.4 Jose Travelled with couple July 2025
