The Lighthouse: more than a guide for ships The Calella Lighthouse is the city’s most iconic landmark. It was inaugurated in 1859 and its light originally ran on olive oil. Today it is still active, but it also houses an interpretation centre where visitors can discover how optical communications once worked along the coast.

Why are locals called “Llops” (Wolves)? The people of Calella are affectionately known as llops (wolves). According to local legend, many years ago a very large, shaggy dog frightened the townspeople, who believed it was a wolf. After gathering the courage to hunt it down, they discovered it was simply a lost dog. The nickname stayed forever as a playful local joke.

A refuge from the Civil War Beneath Dalmau Park lies the Dalmau Park Air-Raid Shelter, built by local residents in 1937 to protect themselves from bombings during the Spanish Civil War. Pet Policy
This accommodation allows pets with the following conditions:
- Pets are allowed in the hotel: from May 22 to September 12, 2026. Outside these dates the hotel does not accept pets.
- Price: from 01/07 to 31/08 16 € per night and pet. For the rest of the dates the price per night and pet is 13 €.
- Maximum weight: No weight limit!
- Please let the accommodation know in advance that you will be travelling with a pet. A maximum of one pet can sleep in each room. Pets are only allowed in the room, except when the cleaning staff is doing their chores. Pets are not allowed in the main areas (reception, dining room, swimming pool, lounge, etc.), only to access the room or to leave the hotel, and must be leashed. The day of check-out you must leave the hotel at 10:00h because pets are not allowed in the main areas.
- The pet may not use the bathroom or the bathtub/shower to relieve itself; and it is not allowed to use hotel towels or sheets for grooming. The pet is not allowed to climb on the beds. In case of an accident with another animal or a person, the hotel will not be held responsible for legal purposes.
Tourism tax
The tourism tax isn't included in the booking price, as it's mandatory to pay this tax directly at the hotel reception. Children under the age of 16 are exempt from this tax.

Acudí al hotel con mi madre y dos niños muy pequeños. Las instalaciones de piscina fueron perfectas para ellos y estaban bien mantenidas, lo pasaron en grande. En general bien, sencillo y humilde, razonable para el precio. Playa a menos 10min, zonas de ocio infantil (inflables, bolera, heladerías) cercanas. Probablemente repita una noche más este verano, tan solo por el disfrute de los niños, llevando un pequeño kit de limpieza preventiva.
Because of the reviews I was really cautious about where I was taking my family: nothing to worry about. There are, however, some improvements to be made: the pool-area toilets were well designed, but there were many drain flies around the toilets and the shower area was leaking, leaving the bathroom floors wet — this could be dangerous and cause slipping. The evening buffet was quite busy; we arrived at 8pm and had to wait 20 minutes to get in, but after that everything was fine. It would be important for them to hire security staff: after all, it is an affordable hotel that attracts many respectable families wanting to enjoy their stay — we met several such families — but there were also many inconsiderate guests who let their children run in the corridors at night or keep shouting. This isn’t a matter of cultural differences, it’s simply bad manners. The anti-social behaviour of some guests creates unpleasant episodes, and although the hotel isn’t soundproofed, this could be addressed by having security who intervene and patrol the complex 24 hours a day. They should walk the corridors and enforce quiet hours. Overall cleaning should be more thorough; it is preferable to enter a room with a bathroom that smells of bleach (a sign of good disinfection) than to have no smell at all.
Debido a los comentarios iba realmente alerta de donde llevaba a mi familia: Nada que temer. Aunque hay mejoras: Los baños de la zona de piscinas estaban bien pensados, pero tenían muchas moscas de agua en la zona del retrete y en la zona de ducha perdía agua dejando el suelo de los baños mojados,podía ser peligroso y resbalarse. El buffet en horario de noche bastante concurrido, llegamos a las 20h y tuvimos que esperar 20min para entrar pero luego estuvo todo correcto. Si que sería importante que contratasen a personal de seguridad, no deja de ser un hotel económico en el que acudían muchas familias de bien a disfrutar, nosotros dimos con varias, pero también muchas otras incívicas que dejan que sus hijos corran por los pasillos de noche o no paren de gritar y ya no es cuestión de diferencia de culturas, es falta de educación. Debido al incivismo de algunos se crean episodios molestos, y no está insonorizado pero se podría arreglar con seguridad que llame la atención y vigile 24h todo el complejo. Que recorran los pasillos y atiendan horarios de descanso. La limpieza en general debería de ser más rigurosa, es preferible entrar en una habitación con baño y que huela a lejía (señal de bien desinfectado) a que no huela a nada.
