Then there’s the spectacular pool. Grottos, bridges and waterfalls create an exotic oasis where every swim feels like a tropical escape, especially on the warmest days along the Costa Tropical.
Recognised as a Site of Tourist Interest, the hotel is just 500 metres from Almuñécar's historic centre and San Cristóbal Beach, around a 5 to 10-minute walk.
A couple of things to bear in mind: thanks to the hotel's split-level design, you'll need to go down several flights of stairs to reach the restaurant, and the lifts are quite compact. This may be less convenient if you're travelling with a pushchair, large luggage or have reduced mobility. Also, if you're travelling with young children, please note that this is a peaceful retreat with no entertainment programme or children's play area, making it ideal for relaxing, but less suited to families looking for kids' activities.

Necesita una reforma íntegra. Decoración pasada de moda, cocina de los años 30 en la que no apetece cocinar, gimnasio con máquinas antiguas, parking interior de pago y con precio excesivo. Hay que dar mucho rodeo para ir a la playa. Poco ambiente.

Se ve que fue un hotel que tuvo su boom, pero no han conseguido mantenerlo o actualizarlo. Aunque perdimos el almuerzo del día de llegada, nos prepararon un picnic para el día de salida, que no teníamos contratado el almuerzo.

The bathrooms… certain things need to be replaced or fixed as they’re broken or badly installed. The kitchen could use some improvements too. The facilities were at about 40% capacity; there’s a lack of things to do after dinner. Only a couple of bars were open. The one inside the pool, where I could have had a beer, was closed, which was a shame.
