1.7 Yoel Travelled with couple August 2025 Breakfast was fine.
El desayuno estaba bien.
We've been robbed (literally). Run away from this hotel—it's the worst one we've ever stayed at in our entire lives. I'll tell you why: First of all, on the first day, my partner and I went for a swim in the pool area, and when we got out of the water, someone had stolen all of my partner’s cash and credit card from her purse. There was a camera (because the pool area is full of cameras) that was pointed right at the spot where we’d left our things, and when we went to report it at the front desk, they told us they’d check the footage and let us know. They never actually checked the cameras, and they never got back to us. We went back to ask about it, and they just gave us the runaround. Not only do they not help, but they also don’t care at all about the safety of their guests or the hotel itself (I’ve read other reviews from people who’ve had things go missing from their rooms as well). The pool area is tiny—it has only 20 lounge chairs and that’s it—so there’s never any room to lie down. Obviously, there are way more than 20 guests, but forget it— people end up going to the bar to lie down in the shade on the bar sofas because there’s simply no room—can you imagine? Breakfast is fine, but when we mentioned that we had an excursion at 7 a.m.—which is when the buffet opens—and asked if there was any option for a breakfast box or some fruit they could give us, they literally told us, “I recommend you go to a café or bakery that’s open and buy something.” They could have been friendly or polite, and they could even have provided a small box—as the vast majority of hotels do, even 2- and 3-star ones—so for a hotel that advertises itself as a 4-star luxury hotel… well, the “luxury” part is a bit of a stretch, just like the four stars. If you’re planning to hang your towel somewhere in the room (at least the shower towel), forget it—there isn’t a single spot to hang them. I’m including the photo so you can see that we ended up hanging it on the bathroom door. As you can see in the photo, the mechanism under the shower door is missing the plastic seal that’s supposed to keep the water from leaking out, which ends up flooding the entire bathroom (a tiny bathroom that smells pretty weird). WARNING: The bathroom door doesn’t close—if you’re looking for privacy, look elsewhere. The closet is tiny. We came from a cruise ship cabin and, before that, a 3-star hotel where our clothes fit perfectly (we were travelling with just two backpacks, mind you—not even a suitcase), but in this closet, we couldn’t even fit everything in, and we couldn’t even close the door (because it basically doesn’t have a door). The view from the window is spectacular—it looks out onto an interior courtyard, which makes you feel really airy and connected to the outdoors (note the irony). The hotel’s location… Well, it certainly doesn’t make you feel that way, especially when right outside the hotel door and in the square it’s full of junkies, drunks, and people begging, and while it’s true that it’s a 15-minute walk from Monastiraki, it’s also true that in those 15 minutes you’ll see 300 more junkies snorting cocaine and shooting up… The hotel staff is extremely unpleasant, not at all friendly, and they certainly don’t care about their guests’ safety—if you tell them you’ve been robbed, they couldn’t care less and won’t even ask you any follow-up questions. The decor and the quality… Well, I’d seen the photos—whoever took them deserves an Oscar—because between the seagull holding a cable that in turn holds the light bulb, the painting of two ladies I have here in the room, and the spooky hand in the hallway with our room number on the door, you almost feel like you’re in a haunted house rather than a hotel room.

Disappointing
9.1 Maite Travelled with family July 2025 The old town—what we liked best was that the hotel had a terrace with a view of the Acropolis; that's great.
At the hotel, they gave us the same towels three days in a row, even though they were dirty.
