Your perfect stay
Alannia Els Prats: beach, slides and family fun on the Costa Dorada
Picture a holiday where you only have to step outside to feel the sand. At Alannia Els Prats, in Miami Platja, the beach is part of the resort itself.
From April to October, while the kids whizz down the pool slides, you can pick a sun lounger or grab a drink at the poolside bar. And when it's time for a change of plan, the entertainment team, which guests praise for its friendly approach, fills the day with games.
As evening falls, the spa with its jacuzzi and hammam helps you slow down before dinner at the beachfront restaurant, with paellas and grilled dishes on the menu.
Few resorts on the Costa Dorada combine a beach within the grounds, pools with slides and entertainment without needing the car. Book your getaway and let Alannia Els Prats take care of the fun.

Why this destination is a must-visit
The most glamorous spot on the Costa Dorada!
Part of the municipality of Mont-roig del Camp (Tarragona), Miami Platja is a stretch of coastline famous for its charming coves sheltered by reddish cliffs and pine forests that reach all the way to the sea.
Discover some of its most fascinating facts and secrets:
- A name inspired by Florida: Miami Platja was founded in the late 1950s by developer Marcel·lí Esquius. Attracted by the area's mild microclimate and light, he decided to create a tourist development inspired by the famous city in Florida, USA, adapting the name to Catalan with “Platja”.
- Cosmopolitan names for its coves: In keeping with the international spirit of the 1960s, its idyllic coves don't have traditional local names, but instead evoke faraway places and suggestive concepts: Cala California, Cala Bot, Cala dels Vienesos, Cala Sireneta, Cala Misteri and Cala de les Sirenes.
- Joan Miró's “magnet”: Although the brilliant surrealist painter had his farmhouse in the inland village of Mont-roig del Camp, the contrast between the reddish cliffs of Miami Platja and the blue Mediterranean Sea deeply inspired his famous colour palette.
- A hideout for Barbary pirates: Centuries before becoming a tourist destination, the coast of Miami Platja was a deserted area frequented by privateers. At Cala dels Vienesos or Cala del Solitari, pirates would secretly disembark before heading inland to plunder nearby villages.
- An ecosystem of dunes and hidden bunkers: Playa del Cristal (Platja del Cristall) preserves remnants of the Spanish Civil War, including old machine-gun nests and bunkers partly buried among the coastal vegetation and sand.
Our recommendation: For one of the best views of its string of coves, walk or cycle along the seafront promenade at sunset. It connects the northern coves with the wide, golden-sand beaches to the south.

Costa Daurada: Spain’s ultimate family-friendly coastal destination
The Costa Daurada, located on the Mediterranean coast of Catalonia just south of Barcelona, is one of Spain’s most popular holiday regions for families and couples. Known for its long golden-sand beaches, relaxed atmosphere and excellent leisure options, it’s a destination that perfectly combines beach time, culture and fun.
Make sure you visit:
- Tarragona, with its impressive Roman ruins overlooking the sea.
- Salou, lively and ideal for families, with a beautiful seafront promenade.
- Cambrils, famous for its harbour and excellent restaurants.
- Reus, the birthplace of Gaudí, full of modernist architecture.
Beaches we think you’ll like:
- Llevant Beach (Salou): wide, well-equipped and family-friendly.
- Cambrils Beach: calm waters and a relaxed local feel.
- La Pineda Beach: long and spacious, perfect for walks by the sea.
- Cala Fonda: a more natural and scenic cove near Tarragona.

- Enjoy safe, shallow waters ideal for children.
- Walk or cycle along the coastal promenades.
- Discover Roman history through open-air sites and museums.
Make sure you try these local delicacies:
- Traditional seafood paella and rice dishes.
- Fideuà, made with noodles instead of rice.
- Fresh grilled fish from the Mediterranean.
- Local wines and cava from nearby Penedès.
Make the most of your visit and go to...
- Tarragona (15–20 minutes): Roman heritage and charming old town.
- Reus (20 minutes): shopping and modernist routes.
