Get ready to discover a winery steeped in history. Marqués de Montecierzo is located in Castejón, in a spectacular century-old building dating back to the early 20th century. Once home to a flour mill, the building was also used as a prison during the Spanish Civil War and in the years that followed. Today, its historic walls are home to the traditional production of organic wines.
What does the visit include?
During this approximately 1-hour experience, you'll explore different areas of the winery and discover both its fascinating history and how its wines are made:
- Visit the Museum Room, barrel area and winemaking and fermentation room.
- Walk through the Tunnel of Time, where photographs and documents reveal the evolution and history of the building.
- Discover part of the story of the prisoners who were held here, including members of Battalion 149, through documents and photographs provided by their families.
- Enjoy a tasting of 4 different wines accompanied by 2 slices of bread topped with cheese.
