Travel to the islands by ferry: comfortable, practical and stress free
Travelling by ferry is one of the most comfortable and flexible ways to reach the islands. With this deal, your trip combines two ferry journeys: a long overnight crossing from the mainland to Ibiza and a second short crossing from Ibiza to Formentera, making island hopping easy and hassle free.

- Ferry from the mainland to Ibiza.
- Ferry from Ibiza to Formentera.
Each route is operated by a different ferry company and has its own specific conditions, detailed below.
Ferry crossing to Ibiza
- You can choose your departure port between Barcelona or Valencia.
- This crossing always operates overnight, allowing you to travel while you sleep and arrive in Ibiza early in the morning.
- The journey lasts approximately 8 to 9 hours, although this may vary slightly depending on weather or port operations.
- During the booking process, you’ll be able to check the approximate timetable.
- Both departure and arrival in Ibiza take place at the Port of Ibiza, the island’s main harbour.
- The trip includes a standard seat. During the booking process, you can also choose to upgrade to a private cabin, the most comfortable option for resting during the overnight crossing, for an additional supplement shown before confirming your booking.
Ferry company information
- This crossing is usually operated by Trasmed.
- However, for operational reasons, the route may also be operated by GNV, another ferry company covering the same route.
- The final ferry operator will be confirmed directly at the port on the day of departure.
- This will not affect your booking or the services included. The ferry company may simply assign the vessel according to operational needs to guarantee the crossing.

Ferry crossing to Formentera
- This crossing is operated by Trasmapi.
- Boarding takes place at the Marina Ibiza maritime station, located close to the port where you’ll arrive from the mainland.
- The crossing lasts approximately 35 minutes.
- Your ticket does not include a fixed timetable, allowing you to board any available departure once you arrive at the port.
- Arrival in Formentera is at the Port of La Savina, located in the north of the island.
- The crossing also includes a standard seat.
Important ferry information
- Vehicle transport is not allowed on any of the ferry routes.
- Meals are not included during the crossings.
- Onboard services such as cafeterias or restaurants may vary depending on the ferry operator.

Documentation and boarding process
- During the booking process, you must provide the full name and surname of all travellers exactly as shown on their ID document.
- The final travel documents will be sent by email up to 72 hours before departure.
- It is mandatory to print the travel documents in order to board the ferry.
- At the port, you must present:
- The printed travel documents
- The ID document of all passengers
- Without these documents, boarding will not be permitted.
- We recommend arriving at the port at least 2 hours before departure, both for the outbound and return crossings.
