  • Normally, the Full Board service begins with lunch on the day of arrival and ends with breakfast on the day of departure.

  • If you arrive in the evening, you may start with dinner on the day of arrival and enjoy lunch on your final day instead. Please remember to inform reception in advance so this change can be arranged.

Important: The last day of the season will be 1 November, therefore the final service available will be breakfast.

The Temple of Hercules and Atlantis

Just off its coast lies the Islet of Sancti Petri. According to legend and ancient chronicles, this was the site of the legendary Temple of Hercules Gaditanus.

Historical fact: It is said that figures such as Julius Caesar and Hannibal once visited it.

The mystical connection: Some theorists and Atlantis seekers believe traces of the lost civilization may lie in this strategic enclave.

Why “de la Frontera”?

Many assume it refers to the border with Portugal — but it doesn’t. Like Jerez, Arcos or Vejer, the name dates back to the Reconquest, when Chiclana marked the frontier between the Christian kingdoms and the Nasrid Kingdom of Granada.

The Battle of Chiclana (1811)

A key episode of the Spanish War of Independence against Napoleon’s troops.
