Why this destination is a must-visit
Menorca is one of the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean Sea, located to the north-east of Mallorca. Declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, the island is famous for its crystal clear waters, hidden coves, whitewashed villages and relaxed atmosphere. Less developed than its sister islands, Menorca is ideal for families, nature lovers and travellers seeking peace and authenticity.
Make sure you visit:
- Ciutadella de Menorca: The former capital of the island, with narrow streets, Gothic churches and a lovely harbour, perfect for evening strolls.
- Mahon (Maó): The current capital, known for its natural harbour (one of the largest in the world), Georgian buildings and local markets.
- Naveta des Tudons: A well-preserved prehistoric burial site dating back over 3,000 years.
