Travel to the Islands by Ferry: Comfort and Flexibility
The ferry is a comfortable, flexible and safe way to reach the islands. With this deal, your journey combines two ferry crossings: a longer route from the mainland to Ibiza, followed by a short crossing from Ibiza to Formentera, making the trip smooth and convenient.
This holiday includes two ferry journeys
- Ferry from the mainland to Ibiza
- Ferry from Ibiza to Formentera
Each journey is operated by a different ferry company and has specific conditions, detailed below.
Journey to Ibiza:
- Travel with Trasmed, one of the main ferry companies connecting mainland Spain with the Balearic Islands.
- Two departure ports are available: Barcelona or Valencia.
- This route is always operated overnight, departing in the evening and arriving in the early morning.
- The approximate duration of the journey is 8 to 9 hours, although it may vary slightly depending on weather conditions or port operations.
- During the booking process you will be able to check the indicative schedules.
- Both arrival and departure in Ibiza take place at the Port of Ibiza, the island’s main port.
- The trip includes travel in an armchair seat, although during the booking process you can upgrade to a cabin, the most comfortable option for resting during the overnight crossing, for an additional cost shown before confirming the booking.

Journey to Formentera:
- This crossing is operated by Trasmapi.
- Boarding takes place at the Marina Ibiza maritime station, located near the port where the ferry from the mainland arrives.
- The crossing lasts approximately 35 minutes.
- Arrival in Formentera is at the Port of La Savina, located in the north of the island.
- Travel is included in an armchair seat.

Important ferry information:
- Vehicle embarkation is not permitted on any of the routes.
- Meals are not included during the ferry journeys.
- On-board services (cafeteria, restaurants, etc.) may vary depending on the ferry company.
Documentation and boarding process:
- During booking you must provide the name and surname of all travellers exactly as they appear on the ID card.
- The final travel documentation will be sent by email up to 72 hours before departure.
- It is mandatory to print the documentation in order to board.
- At the port you must present:
- The printed travel documentation
- The ID card of all passengers
- Without these documents, boarding will not be possible.
- We recommend arriving at the port at least 2 hours before the ferry departure, both for the outbound and return journeys.
