The spa facilities are good, with the water being adequately heated. However, I would recommend avoiding weekends as they tend to be overcrowded and with children, there seems to be a lack of control over their behavior, as kids are seen wearing slippers in the water, swimming in the Jacuzzi, and making noise.
The condition of our room was disappointing in several aspects. The mattress was completely worn out, causing us to sink in and resulting in considerable back pain; it's definitely time for a replacement. Additionally, the towels were extremely old. The incessant noise in our room throughout the day, possibly from some sort of engine, made sleeping nearly impossible. I strongly advise avoiding the restaurant as well. The buffet food was mediocre at best, often served lukewarm, with the only hot item being the ice cream. Arriving at 2:30 pm, we were informed that check-in wasn't until 4 pm, a policy I've never encountered in over 20 years of travel. Despite our wait, we were denied a voucher for a drink while waiting. Cleanliness was also lacking, with noticeable odors in the bathroom and old towels. It's worth noting that the quality of the Vichy Catalan hotel seems to have declined since my last visit, with everything going downhill.

About the accommodation

The Hotel Balneario Vichy Catalán 3* is located in the town of Caldes de Malavella in the province of Girona.

The hotel is located in a neo-Mudejar building dating from the nineteenth century and has 24-hour reception, wifi, air conditioning, heating, free outdoor car park, heated outdoor pool and spa with treatments. It also has a gym, paddle tennis court (for a fee) and ping-pong. And that's not all, pets are allowed! So you can stay with your furry without any problem :)

The thermal circuit offered by the spa runs through the different thermal pools with water from the Vichy Catalan spring at 36ºC. Along the way you will find jacuzzi, underwater jets, thermal water cannons, chromotherapy, "bucket" shower and Finnish sauna.

The hotel has a total of 83 fully equipped rooms: 83 of different sizes and capacities, plus 3 suites. All rooms have television, telephone, heating, air conditioning, free safe, wifi connection and bathroom with shower or bathtub, hairdryer and amenities.

We recommend visiting nearby towns such as Blanes , located , located in Lloret de Mar (Costa Brava), (Costa Brava),, located in Tossa de Mar (Costa Brava), and even the city of Girona, just over 20km away.
