The Lighthouse: more than a guide for ships The Calella Lighthouse is the city’s most iconic landmark. It was inaugurated in 1859 and its light originally ran on olive oil. Today it is still active, but it also houses an interpretation centre where visitors can discover how optical communications once worked along the coast.

Why are locals called “Llops” (Wolves)? The people of Calella are affectionately known as llops (wolves). According to local legend, many years ago a very large, shaggy dog frightened the townspeople, who believed it was a wolf. After gathering the courage to hunt it down, they discovered it was simply a lost dog. The nickname stayed forever as a playful local joke.

A refuge from the Civil War Beneath Dalmau Park lies the Dalmau Park Air-Raid Shelter, built by local residents in 1937 to protect themselves from bombings during the Spanish Civil War. Pet Policy
This accommodation allows pets with the following conditions:
- Pets are allowed in the hotel: from May 22 to September 12, 2026. Outside these dates the hotel does not accept pets.
- Price: from 01/07 to 31/08 16 € per night and pet. For the rest of the dates the price per night and pet is 13 €.
- Maximum weight: No weight limit!
- Please let the accommodation know in advance that you will be travelling with a pet. A maximum of one pet can sleep in each room. Pets are only allowed in the room, except when the cleaning staff is doing their chores. Pets are not allowed in the main areas (reception, dining room, swimming pool, lounge, etc.), only to access the room or to leave the hotel, and must be leashed. The day of check-out you must leave the hotel at 10:00h because pets are not allowed in the main areas.
- The pet may not use the bathroom or the bathtub/shower to relieve itself; and it is not allowed to use hotel towels or sheets for grooming. The pet is not allowed to climb on the beds. In case of an accident with another animal or a person, the hotel will not be held responsible for legal purposes.
Tourism tax
The tourism tax isn't included in the booking price, as it's mandatory to pay this tax directly at the hotel reception. Children under the age of 16 are exempt from this tax.
The tourism tax in a 3 * Hotel is 0.99 € per person and night.

Muy mala experiencia en el Hotel Bon Repòs de Calella. Contratamos pensión completa y fue, sinceramente, tirar el dinero. El comedor estaba claramente desbordado por la cantidad de gente y eso repercutía directamente en la comida: bandejas vacías constantemente, poca reposición y, cuando se acababa algo, podías esperar sin garantías de volver a verlo. Muchas veces apenas había opciones para comer. La situación llegó al punto de que el último día preferimos marcharnos sin usar el servicio de comida.
Las habitaciones son antiguas, están mal cuidadas y la limpieza deja mucho que desear. Paredes con aspecto sucio, instalaciones muy envejecidas y una sensación general de dejadez. No costaría demasiado dar una mano de pintura y hacer un mantenimiento básico para mejorar la imagen del hotel.
El aislamiento acústico es inexistente: se escucha absolutamente todo, conversaciones, puertas, ruido del pasillo y de las habitaciones de al lado. Descansar se hace bastante complicado.
En cuanto a la ubicación, tampoco ayuda. Aparcar es una auténtica odisea por la zona turística donde se encuentra; encontrar sitio puede convertirse en un problema diario.
Lo único salvable fue el personal, que pese al caos y las carencias del hotel intentaba ser amable y hacer su trabajo lo mejor posible.
En definitiva, un hotel con más apariencia de estar masificado y poco mantenido que de ofrecer una experiencia agradable. Mucho margen de mejora en limpieza, mantenimiento, organización y calidad del servicio. No repetiríamos.
