Why this destination is a must-visit

Lloret de Mar is a lively gem on the Costa Brava, ideal for families and couples looking for sun, sea, and a taste of Catalan charm. While it's known for its energy, you'll also find hidden coves, cultural gems, and plenty of nature to explore just beyond the buzz.

Make sure you visit:

  • The Santa Clotilde Gardens, an elegant haven with sea views and Renaissance design.
  • The coastal path “Camí de Ronda” for scenic walks along cliffs and beaches.
  • Sant Joan Castle, offering panoramic views and a touch of local history.
  • Lloret’s historic town centre with its Gothic church and narrow streets.
  • The Maritime Museum, ideal for understanding the town’s seafaring past.

Beaches we think you’ll like:

  • Fenals Beach: quieter than the main beach, perfect for families.
  • Cala Boadella: a semi-hidden cove with clear waters and pine trees.
  • Lloret Beach: the central beach with all facilities and beach bars.
  • Sa Caleta: small and picturesque, with fishing boats and a relaxed vibe.
  • Santa Cristina Beach: a bit further out, peaceful and family-friendly.

Family-Friendly activities:

  • Spend the day at Water World, one of the largest waterparks in Europe.
  • Try a glass-bottom boat trip to explore the coastline.
  • Visit Gnomo Park, a forest-themed amusement park for kids.
  • Go for a mini-golf or bowling afternoon in town.

Make sure you try these local delicacies:

  • “Suquet de peix,” a traditional fish stew from the region.
  • Fresh grilled sardines with aioli.
  • Tapas with a sea view. Try patatas bravas and squid.
  • Local wines from the Empordà region.

Make the most of your visit:

  • Tossa de Mar (20 min): charming walled town with a medieval castle.
  • Blanes (15 min): known for its botanical gardens and family beaches.
  • Girona (45 min): explore its Jewish quarter and enjoy Catalan cuisine.
  • Barcelona (1h 15 min): perfect for a full-day cultural adventure.
  • Montnegre Natural Park: hiking, biking, and nature just inland.

The staff is very friendly, especially at the reception. Excellent and very fast cleaning. The food was of good quality. Not far from the center and the beach.
Everything about the room is terrible. Very old rooms with terrible soundproofing both from the hallway and from the street: I heard everything that was happening from the hallway very clearly and when someone entered another room, I woke up, thinking that they were entering mine. And I wouldn't flinch so much if there were sexy girls walking around there, and not 70+ MILFs. From the street side, it's just a nightmare: from about midnight to 6 am, garbage trucks arrive and load containers with glass into themselves. This is the best time for this. Even at home, I prefer to be hit on the head with a bottle after midnight. Football fields and stadiums are everywhere, where they play even at night. I didn't sleep for several days, then I bought earplugs. This also helps against firecrackers. The room itself is dilapidated. There are holes in the walls that are hastily patched up. The transparent glass door to the toilet does not provide any privacy or sound insulation. pOOOOOOOOOOPS. The beds are very short (about 1.5 m long), it is impossible to straighten your legs, they are always hanging in the air. Perhaps these beds were taken from the "children only" hotel. Very narrow passages - when entering the room, it is impossible for two people to take off their shoes, first you need to walk one after the other inside. The same near the bed. The photos of the rooms are very embellished and are not true. The front door is locked with a key, this is not an electronic card. The view from the room is terrible - onto the old roof of some building, littered with garbage. Only the cats on that roof entertained me in the evenings. The toilet button sticks. Many light bulbs burned out in 1967. The water changes temperature from cold to hot on its own. You can burn yourself. Perhaps this is something about "SPA". Be careful with the elevator. When I was in the elevator and the doors started to close, another woman tried to get in and her hand and, I think, her face were pinned. I kept pressing the door open button the whole time, and it didn't help. Minus one pensioner. By the way, on the -1 floor they have an installation for cloning old people. Someone break it if possible. Oh yeah, the coffee in this hotel is the worst I've ever tried. Regarding the "adults only" label: this is not a youth hotel! This is a hotel for pensioners. While there, I gradually aged myself, and now I'm writing this grumbling review. Jokes aside: when choosing a hotel, the most important thing for me is comfort and my sleep in the room (the rest of the time I'm unlikely to be in the hotel). And in the case of this hotel, it's a 1 out of 10. Unfortunately, neither the good food nor the staff saved my sleep.
