About the accommodation

The Hotel San Carlos 4* is located in the municipality of Roses, in the province of Girona, on the Costa Brava. It is 2.5 km from the center of the town and 2.8 km from the promenade, which will give you access to the beach of the town.

The accommodation has 24 hour reception, air conditioning and heating (centralized, depending on the season), free wifi connection, as well as a reading and games room.

In the summer season, you can take the opportunity to unwind from the sun and take a dip in the outdoor swimming pool, and there is also a children's pool for the kids.In addition, you can have fun playing mini-golf, petanque, tennis, ping-pong, American billiards, great!

It has a total of 110 rooms fully equipped with safe (extra charge), telephone, television and bathroom with shower or bathtub and hairdryer. All rooms have a balcony/terrace.

Besides enjoying the beautiful town of Roses and its exquisite gastronomy, we recommend you to visit other charming towns such as: Ampuriabrava, Cadaqués, L'Escala. As well as going to the Natural Park of Aiguamolls de l'Empordà.

It is not a hotel to go with small children. There is no entertainment for them. There is a sports court and a small park. It is far from the center but parking is not a problem. The pool has no lifeguard.

Good 9.4 Zuely Travelled with family August 2024 I really liked it, the service and the facilities were good, the food should be more varied and the man who attends the plancha should be nicer and not get angry when you ask him to do something, but in general it was good.

Excellent 7.7 Aniki Travelled with family August 2024 The hotel is beautiful. Very quiet and not overcrowded for August. The area is away from the center so you don't hear any noise. You do need a car to get around. Quite clean. The buffet food is not bad. Not much variety but you can eat. The pool is very good but there is no lifeguard or surveillance. The best thing is the staff. They made our stay very pleasant. Patri, Jasna, Yasmine, Gavá. They are awesome. A 10 for the workers. The room was fine. The beds were good. Parking is free and we almost always found free spots. The WiFi is free.
El hotel es precioso. Tranquilísimo y no está masificado para ser agosto. La zona está apartada del centro así que no escuchas ruidos. Eso sí necesitas vehículo para desplazarte. Bastante limpio. La comida del buffet no está mal. No hay mucha variedad pero puedes comer. La piscina muy bien pero no tiene socorrista ni vigilancia. Lo mejor el personal. Nos han hecho la estancia super agradable. Patri, Jasna, Yasmine, Gavá. Son impresionantes. Un 10 para los trabajadores. La habitación bien. Las camas bien. El parking es gratuito y casi siempre hemos encontrado sitios libres. Lack of personnel. The workers are exhausted. They spend many hours there and despite everything they always have a smile. The pool bar lacks products and liquors. They have no variety of juices, no vegetable drinks for coffee. No cocoa or Colacao for the children. If a liquor runs out they take a long time to replenish it. Little variety of drinks in general. In the dining room they put bread that everyone can touch. The salt, oil, etc. are given in any way for everyone. They are not in individual portions. The same with mayonnaise and other sauces. The desserts, especially the ones they put in cups, run out quickly and are not replenished. In the advertisement I thought I saw that there was an indoor pool. It must be closed because I have not seen it. I haven't seen the gym either. The mini golf course is pretty broken. No refrigerator in the rooms. The safe is chargeable.
Falta personal. A los trabajadores se los ve agotados. Pasan muchas horas allí y a pesar de todo siempre tienen una sonrisa. El bar de la piscina tiene falta de productos y licores. No tienen variedad de zumos, no tienen bebidas vegetales para el café. Ni cacaolats o Colacao para los niños. Si un licor se termina tardan en reponer. Poca variedad de bebida en general. En el comedor ponen pan de barra que todo el mundo puede tocar. La sal, el aceite etc puestos de cualquier manera para todos. No van en porciones individuales. Igual la mayonesa y otras salsas. Los postres sobre todo los que ponían en copa se terminan enseguida y no se reponen. En el anuncio me pareció ver que tenía piscina interior. Debe de estar cerrada por qué yo no la he visto. Tampoco he visto el gimnasio. El mini golf bastante estropeado. No tienen nevera en las habitaciones. La caja fuerte es de pago.

The food can be improved, the hotel is separated from everything, but that is what gives it peace of mind.
