Blanes is an excellent holiday resort in the Costa Brava for enjoying a nice quiet beach holiday. The town’s main beach is called Platja de Blanes, a large beach where the water is quite shallow. If you’re looking to avoid the crowds, Cala Sant Francesc is a quiet little beach located at the foot of the Jardín Botánico Marimurtra (a Botanic Garden). The path to get there is a bit steep, which is why not a lot of people go there. It’s definitely worth a visit!

If you’re visiting Blanes with the family, it’s a short drive to the next beach resort Lloret de Mar where there’s a water park called Waterworld and an activity park called Gnomo Park you can go to.

If you fancy doing a water sport, we highly recommend renting a kayak, so you can discover all the hidden coves that are only accessible by water. Stand-up paddle boarding is another activity you can try! Wear plenty of sunscreen and you’ll end your holiday with an amazing tan!

Barcelona is a train-ride away from Blanes, so you should definitely take a day to explore this amazing city. The train service is regular, so you can head out in the morning and get back in time for dinner.
