  • The mystery behind the name (water that isn’t salty)
    It’s called Aguadulce because fresh water springs emerge right by the seashore. In the past, sailors took advantage of these natural filtrations from the Sierra de Gádor to refill their drinking water supplies without having to sail far from the coast.

  • The “Kilometre Zero” of Spanish tourism
    Aguadulce is part of tourism history. In 1964 it was declared the first Centre of National Tourist Interest in Spain. In many ways, the modern sun-and-beach holiday model that we know today began right here.

  • A Hollywood base by the sea
    Thanks to its proximity to Tabernas, Aguadulce, in Almería, became the perfect coastal base for Western film crews. Stars such as Harrison Ford, Clint Eastwood and Steven Spielberg stayed here while filming in the desert, seeking the refreshing sea breeze after long days under the intense heat.

  • The “shield” microclimate
    Protected by the Sierra de Gádor, Aguadulce enjoys a unique microclimate. While strong Poniente or Levante winds may sweep across other parts of Almería, the sea here is often calmer and the air noticeably milder.

  • A hidden treasure beneath your feet: Ribera de la Algaida
    Nearby lies the archaeological site of Turaniana, home to the remains of a Roman settlement. Even more remarkable is its Posidonia reef, one of the few natural monuments of its kind in the Mediterranean, forming an underwater ecosystem that helps keep the water exceptionally clear.

    • Have you selected the ALL INCLUSIVE regime? The 1st stays for between 8 and 14 € approximately per night depending on the dates of your booking. The 2nd stays with a 50% discount in a standard room.
    • If you book a room with sea view, children will have a surcharge of between 4 and 7 € approximately per night depending on the dates of your booking.

Good to know: Discounts for children apply as long as they sleep in the same room with 2 adults or 2 people paying the adult rate.
  • The maximum capacity of the rooms is:
    • Travelling with children? The maximum capacity is 2 adults + 2 children or babies per room.
    • Are you all adults? The maximum capacity is 3 adults per room.
 
  • The surcharge for a single room is approximately 19€ per night per room. It may vary depending on the dates of travel and will be applied to the final price of your booking.

Pet Policy

This accommodation allows pets with the following conditions:

We stayed with only bed and breakfast. Room and hotel is clean. Did not use the pool or other facilities. The breakfast itself is fine
However the breakfast room it is not a Nice place to easy enjoy your breakfast. It is loud and crowded. It is my personal experience that I did not like this. Next time I would book without breakfast.
Excellent 8.6 Loli Travelled with couple June 2026 It is a very large hotel, so there are many guests and bustle in the buffet and when taking the elevators. My room was very big and you could see the sea from the side. The air conditioning worked well. I liked the pools; there is a long narrow one where you can swim laps and it covers quite a bit. The other four were very good as well. Overall, a very good experience.

The Moon Dreams Portomagno 4* is located on the beachfront in Aguadulce, in the province of Almeria.

We stayed with only bed and breakfast. Room and hotel is clean. Did not use the pool or other facilities. The breakfast itself is fine
However the breakfast room it is not a Nice place to easy enjoy your breakfast. It is loud and crowded. It is my personal experience that I did not like this. Next time I would book without breakfast.
